Fresh Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas Dashi

The seaweed flakes in this soup are a great source of iodine and omega-3 FA’s. Both can improve thyroid function.

 

1 ½ -2 c fresh black eyed peas

½ yellow onion

 

Cook until soft, about 30 min, with 1 quart water. Use as much or as little water as you would like to allow for temperature and if you want peas that are soup like or not.

 

Add:

2 T white miso

1 T dashi seaweed flakes

1 t fresh rosemary

1 T extra virgin olive oil

 

warm until miso is dissolved, about 5 min.

 

Serve or put in a ball jar to take for a great lunch. Having this with rice or rice cakes will give you a complete protein source.
